Diamonds: The Timeless Charm
In a glittering celebration of timeless elegance, Bulgari unveiled its Bvlgari Eternal collection, a journey back in time to the 1940s, right in the heart of Beverly Hills.
Imagine a rooftop bathed in the fading sun, with 1,100 handcrafted glass Rosettas, inspired by a vintage bracelet clasp, adorning the exterior. This was the setting for an exclusive event, attended by celebrities like Phoebe Dynevor, Paris Jackson, and Maude Apatow.
As the guests arrived, champagne in hand, they were immersed in a curated display of archival jewelry. The highlight? A bracelet crafted in 1942, a nod to the industrial designs of that era, reminiscent of the ancient art of weaving willow branches into wicker baskets, known as vimini in Italian.
Gislain Aucremanne, Bulgari's heritage curator director, had flown in from Rome with his 'babies' - the archival pieces - to oversee the launch. He explained the collection's inspiration, a desire to revisit the origins of modular jewels, and the role of yellow gold in defining Bulgari's unique style.
"Eternal Vimini" is the culmination of three years of collaboration between Bulgari's design teams and creative director Lucia Silvestri. Aucremanne described it as a harmonious conversation between all the teams, resulting in a reinvention of the woven, intertwined pattern of wicker.
On the rooftop terrace, guests indulged in house cocktails and sliders, catching up and sharing Golden Globes stories. The talk centered around Lisa's debut of the Vimini High Jewelry Necklace, and the new collection's stars, including the Vimini bracelet, a golden wave of rhomboid-shaped elements, and the drop earrings and ring.
As the night progressed, Kim Gordon took over the decks, spinning a set that encapsulated decades of downtown New York cool. The terrace transformed into a dance floor, with Kaytranada taking over the vibes.
But here's where it gets controversial... As the party wound down, guests were already planning their next red carpet appearances, envisioning themselves adorned with the Vimini pieces. A bold statement of personal style or a step too far? You decide.
