Presidents’ Day, Mardi Gras, and Valentine’s Day Converge to Produce 100+ Minute Waits at Walt Disney World
The convergence of three holidays over the past few days has made for an exceptionally busy weekend at Walt Disney World. Valentine’s Day fell on Saturday, February 14; Presidents’ Day was observed on Monday, February 18; and Mardi Gras was celebrated on Tuesday, February 17. With many people taking Presidents’ Day off and Valentine’s Day and Mardi Gras festivities offered across the resort, crowds surged.
Disney World Wait Times
Around 3:00 p.m. on Tuesday, wait times showed notable length across several popular attractions. Tiana’s Bayou Adventure reached a 95-minute wait, among its longest durations in recent chilly weeks. Slinky Dog Dash reported a 100-minute line, Test Track stood at 115 minutes, and The Twilight Zone Tower of Terror hovered at 130 minutes. Space Mountain was down at the time, which likely contributed to longer waits for some nearby rides.
Seven Dwarfs Mine Train was operating at about 95 minutes, while TRON Lightcycle Run was at 90 minutes. Millennium Falcon: Smugglers Run and Rock ’n’ Roller Coaster at Disney’s Hollywood Studios both saw approximately 95-minute waits. It’s noteworthy that Rock ’n’ Roller Coaster is experiencing heightened demand ahead of its upcoming closure for a Muppets reimagining, which is slated to take the ride offline soon.
Other high waits included around 80 minutes for Remy’s Ratatouille Adventure and Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance, and about 85 minutes for Avatar Flight of Passage and Jungle Cruise.
While these numbers might be expected for guests who usually visit during peak seasons like summer or winter holidays, they’re atypical for mid-February. Wait times could ease a bit in the coming days, though Spring Break is on the horizon and crowds are likely to surge again.
